Overview of the Expedition

Itinerary Overview

Day One:
The expedition commences after breakfast, typically around 8:00 to 9:00 AM. Participants will engage in 7 to 8 hours of exploration within the national park, seeking orangutans and other intriguing wildlife. There will be opportunities to interact with local flora, as participants learn about various plant species and their traditional applications. Following a midday break for a nourishing lunch and refreshing fruits, the group will proceed to the campsite. Upon arrival, participants may enjoy a well-deserved rest, with beverages such as tea or coffee available, and the possibility of a refreshing dip in the cool river. The evening will conclude with a delightful dinner, followed by interactive card games and jungle tricks conducted by the guide, before resting for the night amidst the enchanting sounds of the jungle.

Day Two:
After an energizing breakfast, participants will embark on another extended trek lasting 7 to 8 hours into the heart of the national park. While in pursuit of the iconic orangutans and diverse wildlife, participants will deepen their knowledge of indigenous plant species. Following a refreshing lunch and selection of fresh fruits, the group will continue to another campsite, where they can unwind with tea or coffee and take a revitalizing swim in the river. The day will culminate with another enjoyable dinner accompanied by engaging games and storytelling with the guide.

Day Three:
After breakfast, the trek will continue to the next campsite, where participants will spend the night immersed in the tranquility of nature.

Day Four:
The expedition will continue with further exploration as participants trek to an additional campsite, appreciating the beauty of the national park and its wildlife throughout the journey.

Day Five:
On the final day, participants will enjoy a satisfactory breakfast and a revitalizing swim in the river. Following a leisurely lunch at the campsite, the group will prepare for an exhilarating tube rafting experience down the river, culminating in a return to Bukit Lawang.

Pricing Information:

The total cost for this expedition is 250 Euros per person. 

– Minimum Participants: 2 to 3 individuals. 
– Maximum Participants: 4 to 8 individuals. 

Included in the Price:

– A permit to enter Mount Leuser National Park, secured from the PHPA Office (ranger forestry), including camera tax. 

– Special authorization from the Bukit Lawang Guide Association. 

– All meals (lunch, dinner, breakfast) during trekking days, which include drinking water and a selection of fruits. 

– Provision of a tent, mosquito net, blanket or sheet, and sleeping mat or mattress. 

– Choice of tube rafting or walking back to Bukit Lawang.
